On this he attempts to care for his mother and his own family, 8 people in all.  They live in his mother's house, so there is no rent to pay.

We still have to make a home visit to check out the details, but since the teacher has asked our help we can be sure there are obvious difficulties she's able to see during the school day.

KAMONTIP SUKKUM   DOB   30 Oct 1995
Grade 8
WORAWAT SUKKUM      DOB 19 November 1992
This is a sad case.  The father is dead and now the mother has had a motorcycle accident and has a pin in her leg that has to remain until August 2010.  However, as she was caddy at Khao Mai Kaew Golf Course, and she is now unable to walk properly, she has lost her job.  However, the owner felt sorry for her and has given her a job as cashier at the course, but she is unable to earn sufficient to cover all the family expenses and the children are trying to help by caddying at weekends.

Expenses: Utilities          500 B per month
Daily Food   4,200 B per month
School Lunches   1,200 B per month
Transport Costs      900 B per month

The cost of schooling is free as the children go to a temple school but the family need help to care for the children.
This case has been brought to us by Social Services

MANLIKA SRISAWASDI (F)  20th February 1997
Grade 5 School 7

This is the little girl who has been taken in by Gampanad's ( one of our students) family.  Her mother has AIDS (in hospital in Samutprakarn) and her father has disappeared.

She also has thalassaemia and needs to go to the hospital regularly for check-ups.  The application has been endorsed by the teacher.

NIROD PANJANIROD (M)  29th  February 2000
Grade 3 School 7

Father dead, mother earns 150 B per day when work is available.  She is a general labourer who will work at anything, but her income is, understandably, irregular.

There are 6 people in the house, and until recently mum was the sole earner.  However, her brother-in-law has just started a new job making cushions for motorcycles.  As yet he isn't sure what he will earn.

Monthly Expenses:  Utilities   900B   School lunch  400 B   Rice 1740B  Daily Food 5,600 B (We think this is high, and so probably includes milk for the baby.  We'll check on this.)  Rent is paid on the land on which they have erected their shelter at a cost of 4,500 B per year.

Family in the house - Mum, son, married daughter and husband and their two children of 3 years and 7 months.
